A Day of Hockey.
Posted by Dean Sprung on
After watching a gold medal win by Team Canada at the 2015 World Juniors Championship, I started thinking that this could be my most favourite hockey event each year. So where does that leave the other hockey programs that I like and how would I rank them?
Simply put, if I could watch any existing hockey broadcast program on TV (or mobile device) on the same day, this is what the line-up would look like:
1. World Junior Championship
2. NHL Playoff Game
3. NHL Stanley Cup Series
4. Winter Olympics Hockey Medal Rounds
5. CBC Hockey Day in Canada
6. NHL Regular Season Game
7. Junior Playoff Game
8. Jr. A Playoff Game
9. CWHL Clarkson Cup
10. NHL Trade Deadline
11. NHL Winter Classic
12. NHL Skills Competition
13. NHL Draft
14. NHL All-Star Game
15. NHL Awards
If my sons' hockey were on TV, I'd split that with the World Juniors. I've left out AHL, NCAA, CIS and other IIHF events for no particular reason other than my day of hockey is full.
Now it's your turn. What are your favourite programs and how would you rank them?
